In order to ease commuters , Delhi Metro launched online ticketing and recharge facilities for smart card users. Delhi Metro launched this online facility to reduce pressure on ticketing window as 17,000 smart cards are sold every day from various stations of the network and currently, one crore metro cards have been issued and are in circulation.
Users can top up their smart cards through www.delhimetrorail.com and www.dmrcsmartcard.com. These online portal are supported by ICICI Bank Payment Gateway.
You can recharge via your debit or credit card , but recharge using online net-banking facility is not available yet. After recharge, user can check , if the recharge was successful or not via Ticket Reader-cum-Add Value machines. These machines will give info about balance in smart card, last recharge details and the last five entry-exit transactions. 39 touch-screen machines have been installed at 13 Metro stations Dilshad Garden, Shahadara, Seelampur, Shastri Park, Pragati Maidan, Karkardooma, Nirman Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Barakhamba Road, R K Ashram Marg, Jhandewalan and Rajendra Place.
